Acne scars are incredibly frustrating; after all, they can make it look like you still suffer from acne, even though you experienced your last breakout years ago. You want to rock a bare face, but your acne scars still have the ability to make you feel like you need to cover up before you leave the house.
The Halo laser is an FDA-approved technology that combines both ablative and non-ablative lasers to help encourage facial skin’s cellular turnover. The combination of these powerful lasers – which removes the top layer of the dermis while creating tiny, collagen-producing micro-wounds – helps patients get smoother and brighter skin in less time.
What’s more, the Halo laser can be customized to a patient’s specific skin needs, meaning you can get a laser treatment that’s targeted to fade the appearance of your acne scars.
How Does the Halo Laser Fade Acne Scars?
The Halo laser works by skyrocketing skin’s cellular turnover. This is a natural process that helps replace older skin with newer skin; however, as we age, that process can slow down. The Halo laser speeds it back up, thus decreasing the amount of time it takes to get that newer, scarless skin to the surface.
With enough laser treatments, patients can expect to see their acne scars disappear, leaving behind a clear complexion that’s ready for its close-up.
How Many Treatments Do I Need?
Your Halo treatments will be tailored to your specific acne scars, so you may need more procedures if your scars are darker and/older. Newer scars are easier to fade, as they don’t sit so deeply within the dermis.
In general, most patients need anywhere from 3 to 5 Halo laser treatments, spaced about 6 to 8 weeks apart.
