Dysport

What is Dysport?

Dysport is an FDA-approved injection that uses botulinum toxin type A to minimize the appearance of facial wrinkles and fine lines, particularly those on the forehead and around the eyes. Dysport is an excellent anti-aging injection for those clients who want the same results as Botox but want to see those results faster and for a longer period of time.

How Does Dysport Work?

The active ingredient in Dysport – botulinum toxin type A – works by interrupting the nerve signals sent by the brain to the injected muscle. When this interruption takes effect, the muscle relaxes, which causes the skin above it to smooth over.

Dysport contains a smaller amount of botulinum toxin type A per unit, which is why it may take more units to see your ideal results. However, that makes Dysport a good choice for clients who may only have minor to moderate facial aging, or who want to work up to their results.

Is Dysport Painful?

Dysport anti-aging injections aren’t painful, but they can be slightly uncomfortable for patients who don’t like needles. Your Ageless Beauty technician can numb the treatment area before injection, so you’ll be more comfortable for your procedure. Some patients may have minor irritation at the injection site after the procedure, but this side effect usually disappears within 48 to 72 hours.

What is the Recovery Time?

Clients can return to their normal routines immediately after their Dysport injections. Most individuals experience slight bruising, swelling, and irritation at the injection site; these side effects are temporary.

Patients should see their Dysport results within the first week after treatment. Results can last from 3 to 6 months, depending on how much Dysport was used during the procedure.
